Hi everyone,

Here are some guidelines for your NE project since some of you have asked me. For the rest of you, please also read through this carefully as the submissions will have to be standardised.

Guidelines for National Education Project:
1. You will be doing a poster based on the one of the following themes: (1) Heritage of Ang Mo Kio (2) NYP Heritage and (3) Polytechnic Education in Singapore.

PS: If you cannot remember which one you are doing, please see me.

2. Posters should be handed in soft copy only. Students should save their posters in 3 formats and submit in a CD-rom.
(i) Adobe Photoshop: raw format (filename should have an extension of ".psd")
(ii) pdf format: this can be generated from the adobe photoshop programme. To do this: please "Save file as pdf"
(iii) jpeg format: low resolution format

3. For students who do not have access to Adobe Photoshop programme, you can download a 30-day free trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS2 from this
website: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/. (Students will have to register as members to download programmes. However, no registration fee is
required). If they cannot finish their project in 30 days time, another group member can register and download the programme again.

4. Requirements of Poster (soft copy):
(i) Dimensions: A1 format (594mm x 841mm)
- Students can use A4 size as a guideline for arranging the layout of photos and graphics but the final project submitted should be in A1 format.
(ii) Minimum Resolution for photos: 300dpi

5. Please check out the NE Web link from NYP Student Intranet (not Internet) on a range of resources you can use.

More on the Themes:
* Heritage of Nanyang Polytechnic: Students can explore any aspect on the rich history of NYP, such as how it started, milestones and achievements
* Polytechnic Education in Singapore: Students can look into the development of polytechnic education in Singapore and discover Singapore's vision for themselves
* Heritage of Ang Mo Kio: Students can find out more about the estate where NYP is located, such as the history and other interesting facts about the new town


Remember the deadline is the first day of school when you go to Year 2 (i.e. 16 April 2007). So from now until then, please do a little at a time so you don't have to rush through it near the date.

Hi everyone.

There has been a lot of announcement filtering to me lately from the many lecturers today and last week. I know all of you are very confuse as to what lesson is on and what lesson is off this week. So I decided to come here and make a proper "Word" announcement instead. I hope this is MUCH clearer. :)

Another announcement from our dear mentor is that....

*Claim of Class outing money from NYP.
- The Zoo ticket stubs are to be passed up to Mark. A name list would be circulated around to let you tick your name to show that you were present for the trip. Then it would be passed up to Mr Ong for the collection of $4 each.

*"Singapore Dreaming" movie review.
-Please pass up all reviews to Mark tomorrow so hle clould pass it to Mr Ong who will then give us our precious 1 NE point. :)

Hi people,
Your class (and two other first year classes) have been specially selected to participate in a survey on Monday morning 9 am (first day when school reopens). Please go to Block D (School of Business Management) at D105. The survey will take about 2 hours.

IMPT: Only Singaporeans and PR need to go for the survey. I think it is about the education system in Singapore conducted by MOE. You will need to bring your NRIC along for identification.

I know it is horrible to have to come earlier on your first day of school. Brace up and cheer up ok. You get to see your beloved classmates soon. I will put it on record that your class will not get this kind of "special" treatment if there are future things to volunteer. If I forget, remind me :)

Hi!

I've got a list of things to announce here.

1st.........

I've emailed you guys/girls the birthday days and pictures. Please check your emails. :)
Hope by doing this, everyone of you would be prepared to celebrate our fellow classmates upcoming birthdays.


2nd.........

I need the house contact numbers of every single one of you (yes I really do meant EVERY SINGLE one except mr ong of course). Please tell me in one way or another, your telephone numbers, by end of October latest. You can do it thru email, sms, msn, mms...etc....I will consolidate everyone's number and email them to everyone. The reason to do this is because, only thru this way, can we contact each other in case our cell died at home or in any kind of epic emergency.


3rd.........

On the first day of school. Everyone please WEAR THE CLASS T-SHIRT. (Yes, I'm not kidding). If we don't wear it this year...I can't imagine when we are wearing it. So PLEASE wear the class T-shirt (that you painfully paid for) on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.


4th.........

Like what Faith has said, we should really get together and buy school books together as a class. This way, like what mark had said before, if we give bulk orders to the bookshop auntie, this will decrease the possibility of "no-books" situation for everyone.


5th.........

We are having a gathering for celebrating Moon Cake festival this friday. (6.10.06)
Location should be at Bishan Park. Time should be at around 7.30pm-8pm. However, plans have yet to be finalised. It would be finalise soon. Please bring a moon cake each, candles and other nescessity. No money is needed unless you intend to buy something. ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN!

arghh!!this is the 2nd time typing clicked the wrong button!!quite pissed( trying hard not to be)typing as so that i get over and done with this.guess i gots typed it all over again.can anyone tell me how to get rid of the chinese version of blogger home? help needed!!! guess that is prolly the reason why im not blogging lyk i used to.(partly im lazy too) tee-hee.

ooh.k.back to track.since timetable s out.as karen was saying the other time..(karen, u-knw-why).hehe.erm, why don't we plan a day to meet up (as a class) to buy our so called textbks.so that everyone s well prepared for sch.ya.so guys cherishour last 15 days of our hols bfore sch reopens.trust me, truckloads of sch work(projects) awaits us.
